How many rounds per day?

There is one round per day until a Hunter wins the game by answering their riddle fastest in the final round.

May I enter after the game starts?

Because the game is played in rounds and the Hunters for the first round are set soon after the game begins, no additional Hunters may enter once the game begins.

How many players move forward after each round?

The fastest 50% of Hunters progress to the next round. If there are an odd number of Hunters, the system rounds up.

When is the final round?

The final round is played on Thursday, unless at any point we are down to 2 Hunters. If only 2 Hunters progress to the next round, that round is automatically the final round.

How do you calculate the time to solve a riddle?

While the riddles are all sent at the same time, sending an email takes several milliseconds and therefore, even when a system is operating optimally, Sent Time can differ by up to several seconds. We record the actual Send Time of every riddle and use that specific time to calculate Time to Solve.

What if no one completes the round by the time the next round begins?

Though unlikely, in this event, the current round automatically becomes the final round and the fastest Hunter to solve the round wins the game.

Can we use a mobile phone?

You may use a phone (everything will technically work) but decrypting ciphers is usually done much faster on a computer where you can more easily copy/paste and open your tools.

Will this game work perfectly?

No, this platform was written from scratch to accommodate this unique game type and it's unlikely to work perfectly the first few times it's used.
